The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to appoint a new National Chairman today as its National Executive Committee (NEC) convenes in Abuja.
The meeting, scheduled for 10 am at the APC National Secretariat, will determine the party’s new leadership after Abdullahi Ganduje’s resignation due to health reasons.
Acting Chairman Ali Bukar Dalori has been leading the party since Ganduje’s exit.
Key contenders for the position include former Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura and Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, with the North-Central region pushing for the chairmanship to return to their zone.
The NEC meeting will also discuss updates from the Constitution Review Committee and party congresses.
President Bola Tinubu is expected to attend and play a crucial role in determining the party’s leadership direction.
