Previously, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, had declared a two-month period of free train rides to alleviate the commuting burden for FCT residents.

However, President Tinubu appealed for this period to be extended to the end of the year to provide further relief and hope to the people of the FCT.

“Our dear landlord and his team, I heard you saying two months free ride. I appeal to you to make it till the end of the year. Since today you’re not going to charge me, that will give the people hope and reasons to celebrate,” President Tinubu stated.
