The ministry confirmed that officials from the Nigerian Mission in the Central African Republic have established contact with the affected nationals, and the Embassy of Nigeria in Bangui is working closely with local authorities to ensure their safety, welfare, and prompt return to Nigeria.

Their passports have been successfully retrieved, and arrangements are underway to transport them to Bangui, where they are expected to arrive on Saturday, July 26, 2025, accompanied by a military escort.

Discussions are also ongoing with the employers regarding accommodation and welfare support in Bangui prior to repatriation.

The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of its citizens everywhere in the world and advised Nigerians traveling abroad for work to verify the credibility of their employers and ensure proper documentation before departure.
