According to K1, the flask contained water, and he suffers from chronic dehydration, which is why he always carries a water flask with him. He claims to have passed through two security screenings with an empty flask, which was filled with water at the lounge area before boarding.

K1 expressed regret over the concerns raised and assured that he remains committed to upholding the values and responsibilities of being a global ambassador of Nigerian music and culture.

He extended his apologies to the Presidency, Ministry of Aviation, FAAN, NCAA, ValueJet, and his fans worldwide.
