The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has raided the Green Legacy Hotel located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, arresting several youths suspected of internet fraud.
The operation occurred during a pool party at the hotel in the early hours of Sunday, August 10, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses, EFCC operatives from the Lagos Directorate seized over 20 luxury cars and other valuable items during the raid.
A viral video from the scene showed partygoers scrambling for safety as gunshots rang out.
The Managing Director of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Ventures, Vitalis Ortese, confirmed the incident but withheld details, stating, “There was an incident this morning. We will find out and we will let you know.” EFCC spokespersons Ayo Oyewole and Dele Oyewale promised to provide feedback but had not done so at the time of reporting.
This raid follows a similar operation last Wednesday, where EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate arrested 55 suspected internet fraudsters, including one with two locally-made pistols, at K-Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro area of Ogun State.
