The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has urged air travellers to remain calm, cooperative, and respectful of cabin crew instructions while on board flights, stressing that adherence to aviation rules is essential for the safety and well-being of all passengers.

The advisory comes in response to a viral video showing a heated confrontation between a passenger and a cabin crew member on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos on Sunday, August 10.

NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, called on passengers to familiarise themselves with aviation safety protocols and regulations to avoid similar incidents in the future.

He emphasised that cabin crew instructions are not arbitrary but are in place to ensure order, safety, and a pleasant travel experience for all on board.

The NCAA said further updates on the incident will be communicated as more information becomes available.
