President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Japan to participate in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), which will take place from August 20 to 22 in Yokohama.
He was welcomed at Haneda International Airport by Ambassador Hideo Matsubara, the Japanese Ambassador in Charge of TICAD, and Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.
During the conference, Tinubu will attend plenary sessions, hold bilateral talks with world leaders, and engage with Japanese business executives to promote Nigeria as a prime investment destination.
The conference aims to accelerate Africa’s economic transformation through private investment, innovation, and stronger institutions.
After the summit, Tinubu will head to Brazil for a state visit from August 24 to 25, where he will hold bilateral discussions with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and participate in a Nigeria-Brazil Business Forum.
