Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, has dismissed reports of his suspension by the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that he has not received any formal communication from the party.
Daniel’s media aide, Steve Oliyide, clarified on Wednesday that the senator has neither been served a letter regarding the alleged anti-party activities nor notified of any disciplinary action against him.
His response comes hours after the Ogun APC announced the indefinite suspension of Daniel and another member, Kunle Folarin, based on recommendations from disciplinary committees in Sagamu’s Ward 4 and Ward 6.
While the party claimed the suspension followed allegations of anti-party conduct, misconduct, and failure to appear before the committees, Daniel maintained that he remains unaware of any such process, stressing that no official notification has reached him.
The Ogun APC chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, had explained that the suspension was to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, alleging that Daniel and Folarin attempted to intimidate party members.
However, Daniel insists he is yet to be formally informed of any wrongdoing or disciplinary measure against him.
