Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, will on Saturday, August 23, 2025, host his colleagues from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gusau for a strategic meeting ahead of the party’s forthcoming national convention.
In a statement issued on Friday, the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala, said the PDP governors are expected to arrive in Gusau on Friday evening for a dinner to be hosted by Governor Lawal, before the closed-door session on Saturday.

According to the statement, the meeting is a pivotal gathering to deliberate on key political strategies, strengthen internal unity, and collaborate on developmental initiatives across PDP-controlled states.
“The session will provide an opportunity for party leaders to address pressing political issues and foster greater cohesion within the party,” the statement noted.

The Gusau meeting comes as the PDP prepares for its national convention, organised by the National Executive Committee, which is scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.
