The meeting comes after both governments signed a memorandum of understanding on political consultations.

The potential direct flights are part of a broader effort to strengthen ties between Nigeria and Colombia, with areas of cooperation including aviation, visas, political consultations, cultural exchanges, and trade.

President Bola Tinubu assured that Nigeria would replicate agreements signed with Brazil on aviation and consular issues with Colombia, emphasizing the country’s youthful population as a significant market and skilled workforce for investments.

Some of the airlines that operate between Lagos and Bogotá include:

  • Avianca: Offers flights with prices starting from £643
  • Iberia Airlines: Offers flights with prices starting from £643
  • Qatar Airways: Offers flights with prices starting from £643
  • Turkish Airlines: Offers flights with prices starting from £643
  • Ethiopian Airlines: Offers flights with prices starting from £643

The cheapest flight from Nigeria to Colombia is from Lagos to Bogotá, with airfares starting at ₦2,709,919. Direct flights between Lagos and Bogotá would significantly enhance travel convenience and foster stronger economic and cultural ties between the two nations.
