Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has once again cautioned truck operators against the unauthorised use of its logo on vehicles not affiliated with the company, describing the practice as damaging to its reputation.

In a statement, the company noted that despite repeated warnings, some independent truckers continue to brand their vehicles with the Dangote logo for personal or undisclosed motives. It expressed concern that such trucks have been involved in incidents that were wrongly linked to the company, causing embarrassment to its brand.

“We have repeatedly cautioned truckers to refrain from using our logo on unauthorised vehicles. Moving forward, we will increase vigilance and take decisive legal action against misuse of our brand identity, particularly concerning vehicles unaffiliated with the Dangote Group,” the statement read.

Dangote pledged to step up monitoring efforts in collaboration with security agencies and law enforcement while pursuing legal action against offenders.

The company also decried the spread of misinformation, particularly the tendency to attribute road accidents to its fleet without proper verification. It urged the public and media to confirm facts before circulation, warning against individuals who exploit tragedies for malicious or financial purposes.

DIL operates one of the largest commercial fleets in Africa, with over 12,000 trucks in Nigeria alone, including more than 3,000 managed by third-party contractors. On a daily basis, over 6,000 vehicles are deployed in operations that power its logistics network and provide more than 36,000 direct and indirect jobs.
