President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of five executive directors to the board of the newly established North Central Development Commission (NCDC).

The announcement was contained in a statement on Tuesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The appointees are Biliquis Sanni (Administration & Human Resources), Aisha Ibrahim (Commercial and Industrial Development), James Uloko (Corporate Services), Muhammad Bashar (Finance), and Atika Ajanah (Projects).

According to the statement, the new directors are expected to support the commission in achieving its statutory mandate.

President Tinubu urged them to work in synergy with the NCDC’s governing board to “promote and coordinate the sustainable development” of the North-Central geopolitical zone.

The NCDC was established in February 2025 following the President’s assent to the North Central Development Commission Bill. Its mandate is to drive infrastructure growth, tackle ecological challenges, and foster economic development across the region, which has been impacted by insecurity, flooding, and other socio-economic challenges.

The commission covers Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
