The Movement for Islamic Culture and Awareness (MICA) has successfully completed the first edition of its Teen Haus initiative, tagged “Building the Bridges 1.0,” a two-day immersive program aimed at empowering teenagers with resilience, confidence, and values to navigate the modern world.

Speaking on Saturday, MICA’s Executive Secretary, Mr. Abdulhameed Danmole, said the program reflects the organisation’s belief that teenagers are not only future leaders but also active changemakers today.

“At MICA, we believe teenagers aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow, they are changemakers today. Through Teen Haus, we are creating safe, creative, and faith-anchored spaces where young people can learn, grow, and lead with confidence,” he said.

The inaugural edition drew 25 teenagers between the ages of 15 and 18. Participants engaged in interactive online sessions on financial literacy, emotional resilience, and confidence-building, complemented by hands-on workshops in public speaking, creative writing, and digital literacy.

Parents Applaud Initiative, Teenagers Share Transformative Impact

Parents described Teen Haus as “an investment in the future generation,” while participants credited the program with boosting self-confidence, deepening faith-driven clarity, and sharpening communication skills. The strong turnout, active engagement, and positive feedback from both parents and teens underscored the initiative’s impact.

Encouraged by this success, MICA announced that Teen Haus Stage Two is already in the works, with plans to introduce participants to seasoned facilitators and mentors for advanced skill-building.

A non-profit organisation, MICA is dedicated to nurturing faith, excellence, and leadership in individuals and communities. It blends Islamic values with practical life skills through initiatives such as MICAFloor discussions, Katibah retreats, and now the Teen Haus program, all designed to provide platforms for growth, reflection, and empowerment.
