Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has relieved Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko of her duties as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, effective immediately.
The decision was announced in a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, who described it as a minor adjustment to the State Executive Council.
No reason was given for Takko’s removal, but the governor appreciated her contributions to the state and wished her success in her future endeavors. “The governor thanks the Honourable Commissioner for her services to the State and wishes her success in her future endeavors,” Gidado said.
Takko was sworn in as Commissioner on September 9, 2024, and had previously served as Caretaker Chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Area since July 2023.
This development comes amid other recent government actions in Bauchi State, including the dismissal of two senior government officials for forgery.
