Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a businessman, Muhammad Shuaibu, and his two daughters, including a 200-level university student, from their residence in Zhibi community, a settlement neighboring Dei-Dei town in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The incident occurred around 12 a.m. on Friday when the assailants stormed the area, breaking through the backyard door after destroying the burglar-proof padlock.

The family members were summoned to the sitting room, where the attackers demanded food items, which were not available in the house, and seized the couple’s mobile phones.

The wife’s pleas spared her baby, but Shuaibu and his daughters were taken away.

As of Monday afternoon, there had been no contact from the kidnappers, heightening fears for the victims’ safety.

Residents are calling on both the Niger State Government and the FCT Administration to strengthen joint security operations in the area.
