The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS) has renovated the Oke-Odo Primary Health Centre in Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Area as part of activities to commemorate its 12th anniversary.
In a statement signed by the Association’s Publicity Secretary, Sir Olusina Thorpe, ALARHOSPS President, Otunba Nurudeen Ojora-Adejiyan, explained that the health centre was given a facelift due to its vital role in providing essential healthcare services to residents of Oke-Odo and its environs.
According to him, “By renovating the primary health centre, its capacity to provide medical services, especially to pregnant women and newborn babies, will be greatly enhanced.”
The renovation included the donation of medical equipment to aid childbirth in the labour ward, such as blood pressure monitors, maternity beds, baby cots, and mattresses. In addition, the exterior walls and perimeter fence of the facility were painted to give the centre a befitting look.
Otunba Ojora-Adejiyan further disclosed that the association’s anniversary celebration will run from Tuesday, October 14 to Sunday, October 19, 2025. The week-long event will feature a visit and donation to the Correctional Centre for Boys in Oregun, a Walk for Fitness and Health Talk, Christian and Muslim thanksgiving services, and the Association’s Quarterly General Meeting, during which its Constitution will be reviewed.
ALARHOSPS, as part of its annual tradition of giving back to society, routinely assesses the needs of institutions in the education and health sectors to make meaningful interventions.
Over the past three years, the association has rehabilitated the Assembly Hall of Epe Grammar School and renovated St. Thomas Anglican Primary School, Badagry — the first primary school in Nigeria. Last year, in celebration of its 11th anniversary, ALARHOSPS also renovated 18 toilet facilities at Ebute-Elefun Senior Secondary School on Lagos Island.
Earlier this year, the association held its annual summit, focusing on issues of good governance and selfless public service delivery, with members making significant contributions toward state and national development.
