Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi marked his first goal for Besiktas as the Turkish side secured a 2-0 win over Konyaspor in Wednesday’s Super Lig clash at Konya Buyuksehir Belediye Stadium.

Recently appointed vice-captain, Ndidi combined effectively with new captain Orkun Kökcü in midfield, with Kökcü providing the assist for the Nigerian’s opener. Besiktas then held a slender lead at halftime despite Konyaspor’s persistent pressure.

The visitors doubled their advantage in the 73rd minute when Tammy Abraham capitalized on a goalkeeping error by Derniz Ertas, slotting into an empty net. Abraham’s late strike in the 85th minute was ruled out by VAR, keeping the score at 2-0.
The victory lifts Besiktas to sixth place on the Super Lig table with 16 points, while Konyaspor remain ninth with 11 points.
Besiktas, recovering from a shock 2-1 home defeat to newly promoted Genclerbirligi, ended their two-game winless streak and earned seven points from their last three away matches.
The Istanbul side will next face Kasimpasa on Sunday, while Konyaspor aims to bounce back against Gençlerbirliği.
