Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray secured a 3-1 victory over Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, marking back-to-back European wins after a long drought in main-draw matches.

The home crowd at RamsPark erupted just three minutes in, when Mario Lemina’s pass allowed Osimhen to finish past goalkeeper Nikita Haikin. The Nigerian striker continued to trouble the visitors, hitting the post twice from Leroy Sané crosses before capitalizing on a lax backpass from Fredrik André Bjørkan in the 33rd minute

to make it 2-0.

Despite Bodø/Glimt showing flashes of attack and hitting the post through Sondre Brunstad Fet, Galatasaray maintained control. Osimhen’s relentless pressure led to Yunus Akgün scoring the third goal, while the Norwegian side pulled one back in the 76th minute through Andreas Helmersen.

The win ended Bodø/Glimt’s five-game unbeaten run in European group matches and marked Galatasaray’s 21st victory in their last 23 games across all competitions.

Osimhen, 26, also set a new club record by scoring in seven consecutive European matches, surpassing former striker Burak Yilmaz, who scored in six straight games in 2012.

The former Napoli forward, who netted 37 goals and provided seven assists in 41 appearances last season, continues to shine after signing a permanent four-year deal with Galatasaray in August.

Galatasaray, under manager Okan Buruk, now sit in a strong position in their Champions League group with two wins and one defeat from their opening three matches.
