Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was ejected from the Federal High Court in Abuja after becoming unruly during proceedings.

Judge James Omotosho had dismissed three fresh motions filed by Kanu, describing them as unmeritorious, and was set to deliver his ruling when Kanu insisted that proceedings could not continue because he had not yet filed his final written address.

Kanu accused the judge of bias and claimed that Omotosho did not understand the law, prompting the judge to order security agents to remove him from the courtroom.

Kanu has been on trial on charges bordering on alleged terrorism since 2015, and has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his re-arrest in Kenya in 2021.
