US Congressman Riley M. Moore met with Nigerian National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and other senior government officials to discuss ongoing terrorist threats and alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the US and Nigeria to combat terrorism and end violence.
Congressman Moore emphasized the US commitment to supporting Nigeria in its fight against Boko Haram, ISWAP, and Fulani militants, particularly in protecting Christians in the Northeast and Middle Belt regions.
He urged the Nigerian government to accept US cooperation and work together to disrupt and destroy terrorist groups.
The delegation, which included Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Bianca Ojukwu, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, and Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede, shared Nigeria’s challenges and concerns regarding counterterrorism, security assistance, and protection of vulnerable communities.
