President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a three-man list of ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation. The nominees include Kayode Are from Ogun State, Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa State, and Ayodele Oke.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced this during Wednesday’s plenary session, stating that more names are expected to follow.
This is Tinubu’s first ambassadorial list since assuming office in May 2023.
The appointment comes after a year-long gap in diplomatic postings, with critics attributing Nigeria’s blacklisting by the US as a Country of Particular Concern to the lack of ambassadors.
