The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is holding its 2026 Osun State governorship primary at the Adolak Event Centre in Osogbo, despite the state chapter’s declaration that the primary cannot proceed due to the national leadership crisis.
Security is tight, with personnel from the Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Department of State Services (DSS) present.
The party’s National Organising Secretary, Hon. Theophilous Shan, insists the primary will proceed as planned, while Governor Ademola Adeleke has withdrawn from the party.
Screening of delegates from the 30 local government areas has been concluded, with 957 out of 990 delegates accredited.
