Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has been taken into custody by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at his Abuja residence.
The EFCC has not yet issued an official statement on the reason for his arrest.
Ngige’s former media aide, Fred Chukwuelobe, confirmed that the former governor is in EFCC custody, saying “more details later.”
The arrest comes days after Ngige’s convoy was attacked in Anambra State, resulting in the shooting of a police officer and injuries to several others.
