The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has reiterated its plan to proceed with a nationwide protest on December 17, 2025, to draw attention to the country’s worsening insecurity.

NLC President Joe Ajaero stated that the protest aims to awaken the government to its responsibilities in tackling economic hardships, insecurity, banditry, and other issues plaguing the nation.

Ajaero emphasized that insecurity is damaging Nigeria’s economy, deterring investors, and affecting workers, with many being kidnapped or killed.

He called on Nigerians to join the protest, urging the government to overhaul the country’s value system and put an end to banditry and kidnapping.

The NLC leader stressed that the protest is the organization’s way of contributing to restoring safety and security in Nigeria.
