In a successful intelligence-driven operation, troops from Nigeria’s Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, neutralized 17 terrorists in Borno State early this morning.
Acting on credible intelligence about a terrorist logistics run, the joint force set up a long-range ambush between the villages of Sojiri and Kayamla on the night of December 20th.
Around 2:24 a.m., the suspected JAS/ISWAP terrorists arrived at the location on bicycles, carrying various supplies, which confirmed the intelligence reports. The troops, who were concealed in coordinated positions, decisively engaged the insurgents.
In the ensuing firefight, 17 terrorists were killed, while others managed to escape with gunshot wounds.
Following the engagement, troops recovered numerous items, including weapons, ammunition, bicycles, assorted food items, medical supplies, and other logistical materials.
A military spokesperson stated that this operation highlights the effectiveness of joint security efforts in disrupting terrorist supply lines and degrading their ability to operate. The troops safely withdrew to their base after the operation, and follow-up missions are currently underway to dominate the area.
