In a new video released by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, a former Vice Chairman of Biu Local Government Area in Borno State, Hassan Biu Miringa, is shown appealing for help alongside another unidentified captive.
The two men, who were abducted on December 17, 2025, while traveling from Miringa to Maiduguri, stated that their captors are demanding a ransom of $150,000 each, for a total of $300,000 (about N423 million).
In the video, Miringa directly pleads with Borno’s Deputy Governor, Umar Usman Kadafur, and other local leaders to intervene, stating they are “sons of the soil” who wish to be reunited with their families.
He also mentioned that some negotiations with the abductors have already taken place.
