Former Sokoto East Senator Abubakar Gada has left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing leadership stagnation and lack of commitment from former Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
Gada, who represented Sokoto East Senatorial District from 2007 to 2011 under PDP, accused Tambuwal of failing to identify with the ADC and engaging with other parties, including the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Gada stated that he and Tambuwal were initially considered joint leaders of the ADC in Sokoto, but Tambuwal’s absence and lack of participation in party activities led to doubts about his intentions.
The move ends weeks of speculation about Gada’s political future, with supporters urging him to contest the 2027 governorship election.
