Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman has stepped down as Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to sources, Prof. Saleh’s decision to resign was personal and came after careful reflection. They emphasized that his resignation was not the result of boardroom pressure or any internal crisis, but a voluntary choice to step aside at this time.

Professor Saleh is reported to believe that his departure is in the best interest of NAHCON, noting that he has contributed to strengthening corporate governance and ensuring stability at the commission during his tenure. He was appointed in 2024 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

While NAHCON has yet to issue a full official statement, arrangements are reportedly being made to ensure a smooth transition, with further details expected in the coming days.
