The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the timetable for the 2027 general elections.
According to INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on February 20, 2027, while the governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls are scheduled for March 6, 2027.
The announcement comes amid concerns over the delayed passage of the amended Electoral Act, currently before the National Assembly.
INEC had earlier indicated that it had completed work on the election timetable, despite the delay, and submitted it to lawmakers.
