The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he presented him with a customised Super Eagles jersey.

The symbolic presentation was captured in a video shared by the President’s official photographer, Sunday Moses, via his verified Instagram account on February 19, 2026. The footage shows Dikko formally handing over the green-and-white jersey to the President in appreciation of the administration’s continued support for sports development in Nigeria.

During the brief ceremony, both men exchanged pleasantries and posed for photographs, highlighting what officials described as a strong working relationship between the Federal Government and Nigeria’s football authorities.

The gesture underscored the administration’s commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure, expanding youth participation, and enhancing Nigeria’s global profile through football and other sporting disciplines.
The visit comes shortly after recent engagements at the National Assembly, where the National Sports Commission, the Nigeria Football Federation, and the National Institute for Sports defended their respective budget proposals as part of the ongoing federal appropriation process.
