Insider reports from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) indicate that Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has submitted a 19-point proposal as part of ongoing negotiations over a contract extension.
The Franco-Malian tactician, who guided the Super Eagles to their ninth Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) bronze medal at Morocco 2025 in January, reportedly tabled the demands on January 22, 2026, shortly after the tournament concluded.
According to a report attributed to NFF insider Shina Oludare, Chelle’s proposal centres on improved remuneration and enhanced working conditions.
Among the reported requests is a salary increase to $130,000 per month, along with accommodation in a secure location, a chauffeured SUV with security support, and a fully furnished analysis office equipped with internet facilities for match preparation.

The proposal also reportedly includes guarantees of full technical authority over player selection and match scheduling. Chelle’s salary demand is believed to cover his backroom staff and a personal assistant.
In addition, the coach is said to be seeking improved scouting access and structured camping programmes aimed at youth development, with the objective of integrating emerging talents into the national team setup.
The timing of the proposal has attracted attention, particularly as foreign clubs have been linked with the coach in recent weeks.
While discussions between Chelle and the NFF are ongoing, sources suggest that the federation’s final decision will likely depend on its financial and operational capacity rather than on-field performance, which has generally received public approval.
