The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) has withdrawn the criminal case brought against Mike Ozekhome (SAN) by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC).
The charges, which included forgery, were struck out by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama on Tuesday.
The Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF), Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), stated that the AGF plans to review the case and decide on the best course of action.
The AGF’s decision was guided by public interest, the need for interagency cooperation in fighting corruption, and ensuring the highest standards of effectiveness and fairness in the criminal justice system.
Ozekhome was accused of presenting forged documents, including a Nigerian international passport, to support his claim of ownership of a property in London.
The case is part of a broader property dispute involving Ozekhome and a deceased retired lieutenant-general, Jeremiah Useni.
