Damilola Sholademi, a standout member of the Nigerian National Archery Team, has claimed second place in the compound bow division at the USA Archery Indoor National Championship for the Northeast region, held from February 21 to 23, 2025, in Fiskdale, Massachusetts.
This marks Sholademi’s second consecutive second-place finish at the Fiskdale Indoor Nationals, reinforcing his dominance in the sport. Over the past year alone, he has amassed more than 14 medals across various domestic and international competitions, proudly representing Nigeria at each event.

Sholademi’s archery journey began during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Since then, he has risen rapidly through the ranks, becoming a key figure in the Nigerian archery scene. Notably, he was part of the teams that won silver medals at the African Continental Archery Championships in 2022 in South Africa—Nigeria’s first-ever continental archery medals and again in Tunisia in 2023.
Currently, Sholademi is ranked 7th in Africa in the compound bow category and is recognized as the most decorated archer in Nigeria across all bow categories. He also holds the number 2 ranking in the state of Massachusetts, USA, and is the first Nigerian to be signed by the renowned archery equipment manufacturer, Ramrods Developmental Team.

Beyond his personal achievements, Sholademi has been a driving force in promoting archery in Nigeria through his involvement with the ARCH Archery Club Abuja. Over the past five years, he has helped nurture emerging talent and raise the profile of the sport nationally.
His recent victory at the USA Archery Indoor National Championship highlights not only his skill and dedication but also the growing global presence of Nigerian archers. Sholademi’s success continues to inspire a new generation of athletes and underscores the impact of perseverance, passion, and commitment to sporting excellence.
