A female officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reportedly died following an accident during a display in the Federal Capital Territory.
The incident occurred on Saturday during a “show of force” exercise by the Corps’ Female Strike Force, also known as the Female Squad, and was captured in a viral 58-second video circulating on social media.
Footage from the scene shows a black operational van with red wheels, marked “Female Squad,” moving ahead of a second van labeled “Female Strike Force FCT Command.” During a turn, the lead vehicle ran over the officer, pinning her underneath.

Other NSCDC officers and bystanders rushed to the scene, lifting the van to rescue the victim and transfer her into a waiting ambulance.
While the NSCDC has not yet issued a formal statement, spokesperson Afolabi Babawale confirmed the officer’s death in a telephone call on Saturday afternoon.

The identity of the deceased has not been released. Babawale said a detailed statement would be issued to clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
