Amas Obasogie has strongly denied allegations of match-fixing following his temporary suspension by Singida Black Stars SC.

The suspension came after the club expressed concerns over goals conceded in a CAF Confederation Cup match against Flambeau du Centre FC and a domestic league fixture against Namungo FC.

Obasogie, who has represented Nigeria at international level, admitted responsibility for his on-field performances but rejected any suggestion of wrongdoing. He described the mistakes as unintentional errors rather than deliberate acts.

“I understand match-fixing is a serious allegation, and I would never risk my reputation, career or integrity,” Obasogie said.

The goalkeeper confirmed his readiness to appear before a disciplinary committee to address the claims and expressed confidence that he would clear his name.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Obasogie reiterated his commitment to Singida Black Stars, stressing the club’s importance to his career.

“I remain committed to serving the club with honour and contributing to its success,” he said, urging fans and stakeholders not to confuse ordinary on-field mistakes with match manipulation.
