Nigeria: INEC Fixes Dates for Ekiti, Osun Governorship Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the dates for the governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.

According to INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, the Ekiti governorship election will hold on June 20, 2026, while theE Osun governorship election will take place on August 8, 2026.

The commission has also released the schedule of activities for both elections, including the dates for party primaries, nomination form submission, and campaign periods.

For Ekiti, party primaries will be held from October 20 to November 10, 2025, while for Osun, it will be from November 24 to December 15, 2025.

The final list of candidates for Ekiti will be published on January 18, 2026, and for Osun on March 9, 2026.
