The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the full restoration of train services on the Abuja-Kaduna route, following a disruption earlier this week.
Managing Director Kayode Opeifa made the announcement on Wednesday, assuring passengers of improved safety and operational standards.
According to Opeifa, normal train operations have been fully restored thanks to the swift intervention of the NRC.
“Passengers can now confidently book tickets, as improved safety and operational measures have been implemented to ensure secure and comfortable journeys,” he said.
The disruption occurred on Monday, March 16, 2026, but services have since resumed, with the return trip from Rigasa, Kaduna State, welcoming passengers yesterday, March 17, 2026.
The NRC has been working to address safety concerns and improve operational standards, including repairing damaged coaches and enhancing security measures.
