The Labour Party has announced May 23 as the date for its presidential primary, part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The National Executive Council (NEC) approved the timetable, which includes other key dates: April 15 for submitting the membership register to INEC, May 15 for governorship and legislative primaries, and April 11 for the national convention.
The party has also initiated measures to strengthen its structure, including expanding its membership register through digital and manual registration, and filling vacancies in party structures with interim leadership.
The NEC has welcomed a court judgment affirming Senator Nenadi Usman’s leadership as Interim National Chairman.
