Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oloyede, and Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, have arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, following a directive from President Bola Tinubu to relocate security chiefs to the state capital after multiple bombings on Monday night.
The bombings, suspected to be carried out by Boko Haram, killed 23 people and injured 108 others.
The military chiefs were received by the theatre commander of Operation Hadin Kai and other top military officials at the Maiduguri Air Force base.
Tinubu has vowed to intensify efforts against terrorist elements, stating that the attacks are “desperate attempts” to instill fear.
