Nigerian and Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 Best Men’s Player award at the annual Globe Soccer Awards, organized by the Dubai Sports Council. The announcement was made on Thursday via X (formerly Twitter).

Lookman who was ranked 14th best at the Ballon D’or Awards stands among football’s elite, including superstars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland.

The nominee list showcases a blend of established icons and rising stars across Europe’s top leagues. Representing English clubs, Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham, and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer have also earned nods.

Meanwhile, Messi and Ronaldo continue to make the shortlist, underscoring their enduring impact on the sport. Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Leroy Sané, as well as Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, are also in the running for the prestigious honor.

Barcelona’s new sensation Lamine Yamal, alongside La Liga standouts Federico Valverde, Vinícius Júnior, and Alejandro Grimaldo, rounds out the nominees, highlighting Spain’s vibrant football scene.

The Globe Soccer Awards noted that nominees with the most votes will advance as finalists. This year’s event marks the 15th edition and will be held on December 27, in conjunction with the 19th Dubai International Sports Conference, in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council.
