Kwara State is bracing for potential terrorist attacks, with security agencies on high alert following intelligence reports.
The suspected targets are Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin Local Government Areas, with planned attacks on March 23 and 28, 2026.
The Joint Security Watch has notified relevant authorities, including the Kwara State Police Command, and urged residents to remain vigilant.
The warning comes after a deadly attack on Woro and Nuku villages in February 2026, which left at least 162 people dead and dozens injured.
The attackers, suspected to be Boko Haram or Islamic State-linked Lakurawa, demanded villagers adopt Sharia law, and executed those who refused.
Residents have been advised to avoid panic and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
Community leaders and local security networks are working with law enforcement to prevent potential attacks.
The situation highlights growing concerns over armed groups and banditry in North Central Nigeria, with several states strengthening local security structures.
