Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a former media aide to Abdullahi Ganduje, ex-governor of Kano, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He cited extensive consultations with family, friends, and political associates as the reason for his move.

Yakasai had previously left the APC in 2022 to join the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), where he became the gubernatorial candidate in Kano’s 2023 election. He later returned to the APC in August 2023.

Yakasai expressed disappointment with the APC’s failure to fulfill its promises to Nigerians, citing issues like insecurity, economic mismanagement, and corruption.
