Adeleye Falade has officially assumed office as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited.
Falade took over leadership of the company on Wednesday at its corporate head office in Port Harcourt, following the appointment of his predecessor, Philip Mshelbila, as Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.

Prior to his new role, Falade served as Managing Director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, where he led strategic operations within the country’s LNG sector.
He brings nearly 30 years of experience in the global oil and gas industry, having built a strong career within the Shell Group across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Africa. His expertise spans gas and petroleum operations, engineering, production optimisation, and business transformation.

Falade has also held several key positions at NLNG, including General Manager, Production, where he oversaw plant performance and operational safety on Bonny Island, and Operations Manager, supervising day-to-day plant activities.
In 2023, he was appointed Country Chair for Shell Namibia, providing leadership for the company’s operations and stakeholder engagement in the country.
An alumnus of the University of Ibadan, Falade holds a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and later earned an MBA from Henley Business School.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, as well as a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Falade assumes leadership at a critical period for NLNG, as the company advances its Train 7 expansion project and strengthens gas supply through new agreements with third-party suppliers, aimed at boosting production capacity and reinforcing Nigeria’s position in the global LNG market.
