Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Ondo State, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter addressed to the party chairman in Ward 7, Ondo West LGA, Mimiko said he was tendering his resignation from the PDP effective April 10, 2026, noting that the decision became necessary following speculations and inquiries about his membership status.
He stated that speculations about his membership status had made it necessary for him to clarify his position, adding that he had been somewhat distanced from party activities and wished to put it on record that he was no longer a member of the PDP.
While not indicating his next political move, the former governor said the decision was made without any ill will towards anyone.
