Super Eagles defender Emmanuel Fernandez has been named Rangers FC Men’s Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season.
The 24-year-old centre-back received the honour at the club’s end-of-season awards ceremony after an impressive debut campaign in Scotland.

Despite a challenging season for Rangers FC, Fernandez stood out with consistent performances at the heart of defence, scoring five goals in 23 league appearances and helping the team keep 12 clean sheets.
His strong form also earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Season, further boosting his growing reputation in European football.

On the international stage, Fernandez recently made his debut for the Super Eagles during a four-nation tournament in Turkey, featuring against Iran and Jordan, where he also found the net.
With the 2026 Unity Cup scheduled for later this year in London, the defender could be in line for another national team call-up.
Fernandez’s performances have reportedly attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, raising speculation that his stay in Glasgow may be short-lived after just one season.
