Stakeholders in Agege have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and ensure the return of Dr. Jubreel Abdulkareem to the Lagos State House of Assembly, citing the need for continuity in constituency development.

The appeal was made in an open letter by the Agege Parents Forum, signed by its Chairman, Prince Segun Ogunsanlu.

The group described Abdulkareem as a “dependable representative with strong grassroots connection” who commanded the highest number of valid votes during the APC primary election.

According to the forum, the lawmaker’s popularity cuts across youths, traditional rulers, traders, and both Christian and Muslim communities, positioning him as a unifying figure in Agege politics. They credited his reputation to traits like humility, accessibility, and consistent commitment to community development.

The stakeholders also highlighted Abdulkareem’s recent academic achievement — a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from Babcock University — calling it an inspiration for young people and a boost to his leadership profile.

The forum listed several projects under his tenure, including:

  • Education: Distribution of 5,000 JAMB forms to students in government schools across Agege
  • Healthcare: Sponsorship of 1,000 residents under the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme and monthly health programmes at Orile-Agege General Hospital
  • Infrastructure: Provision of water projects and solar street lighting
  • Welfare: Regular food assistance to vulnerable households

The group concluded by urging President Tinubu to consider their appeal “in the interest of justice, continuity and the success of the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda” in Agege and Lagos State at large.
