The Senate on Thursday distanced itself from an arrest warrant issued against Mele Kyari, former GCEO of NNPC Limited, by its Committee on Public Accounts.
The upper chamber also rejected comments credited to Senator Adams Oshiomhole of Edo North.
During Wednesday’s committee hearing, Oshiomhole reportedly called the NNPC a “bunch of criminals and thieves”.
Lawmakers said the warrant and Oshiomhole’s remarks do not reflect the Senate’s position. More details are expected soon.
