More than 600 young inmates at the Borstal Institute in Adigbe, Abeokuta, received free meals yesterday as the Habiba Charity Foundation carried out an outreach at the correctional facility for juvenile offenders in Ogun State.
The event drew government and academic representatives. In attendance were Dr. Lawal, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Health, and Professor Balogun. Both spoke to the inmates, offered words of advice and prayers, before the distribution of food began.

Beneficiaries expressed joy at the gesture, describing it as a morale boost while in custody.
After the exercise, the Foundation called on members of the public, NGOs and well-meaning individuals to support government efforts to rehabilitate young offenders.
“Let’s help these young people because the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. If we want good leaders tomorrow, we must take care of the kids of today,” the Foundation stated.
The outreach was coordinated by Engineer Rasheed Ismail, Chairman and Founder of Habiba Charity Foundation.
