Barcelona have completed the signing of German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund on a five-year contract, with the transfer reportedly worth €29 million ($33 million), including potential add-ons.
The Spanish champions confirmed the deal on Thursday, announcing that the 24-year-old attacker will remain at the club until June 30, 2031.
Adeyemi becomes Barcelona’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
The versatile forward, who can operate as a central striker or on either wing, is expected to strengthen Barcelona’s attacking options following the departure of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
The Catalan club also saw Marcus Rashford return to Manchester United after his loan spell ended, leaving the team with fewer options in attack.
Barcelona are also reportedly pursuing Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, who is said to be their primary attacking target this summer.
Adeyemi previously worked with Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, who handed him his Germany debut in 2021.
The forward joined Dortmund from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 and scored 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions during his four-year spell with the Bundesliga side.
He will now begin a new chapter of his career at Barcelona as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
