Prophet Itunu Onadeko, fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, has alleged that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Onadeko made the claim during an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, the media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ, on Saturday. His claim contradicts widespread speculation that Osoba died from complications linked to her previous battle with breast cancer.

According to the prophet, he received a phone call from an unidentified person around midnight informing him that the actress had died at a police station in Ikorodu.“It was a random person that called me around 12 am that she died in a police station in Ikorodu,” he said.

Onadeko, who is the Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in the Bogije area of Ibeju-Lekki, said he did not know the specific police station where Osoba allegedly died but reported himself at a nearby station.

He said Osoba had gone to visit a woman identified as Mrs Kehinde Osoba shortly before her death.

According to him, the actress was accompanied by a hairdresser with whom she had been staying, while she remained in communication with him and even made a social media post before he was informed of her death.

Onadeko also dismissed reports that Osoba died from complications arising from breast cancer, although he acknowledged that she had previously battled the disease and undergone surgery.

He said he first met the actress after conducting a prayer for her and was aware of her plans to undergo cancer surgery.

“When I first met her, after I did a redemption prayer for her, she told me she wanted to do surgery on cancer. I prayed for her,” he said.

The actress had previously spoken publicly about her battle with breast cancer, including her treatment and surgery, before announcing her return to the public space in 2024. The prophet also denied allegations that he had access to money donated to Osoba for her medical treatment or that he used the funds to build his church.

He said donations made to the actress, including support from businessman Mike Adenuga, were paid into her account and that he never had access to the funds.

He also rejected claims that his church was built with money donated for Osoba’s treatment, saying the church had existed for about 20 years and was already completed before she became involved with the congregation.

Onadeko further denied allegations that Osoba was subjected to physical or emotional maltreatment before her death. He dismissed claims that the actress was prevented from driving her car, saying she drove herself to Iperu shortly before her death.

He also denied reports that she was punished by having faeces or urine poured on her body over an alleged theft of biscuits.

According to him, the couple supported each other financially and never lived under duress. Onadeko also disclosed that Osoba struggled with smoking, saying he had encouraged her to quit and that members of the church were aware of the habit.

The prophet further dismissed allegations that Osoba drank poison before her death.

He said the actress had left the church about three weeks before her death and that he contacted one of her uncles, identified as Taiwo, after learning of her passing.

Osoba died on Wednesday at the age of 40. She is scheduled to be buried on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

However, the claims made by Onadeko regarding the circumstances of her death have not been independently verified, and the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the actress’ death remain unclear.
